What's Lefty's
Our company sells leathercraft and various western goods located in Shimane, Japan. The shop was established in 1989.
Staff includes 2 crafters:
Lefty Mikuni, the owner, Yoji Mikuni,
and his son and apprentice. Lefty Mikuni is not only one of the most famous leather artists in Japan, where he has even been featured on television, but he is quickly becoming well-known in the U.S. and around the world.
Lefty's Leathercraft is of course named after Lefty, who is very unique not just because he is creating Western leathercraft in Japan, but also because he works left-handed! We offer 3 main categories of items for sale: Leather Goods, Silver items, Apparels, Antiques.
 LEATHER GOODS
All of our leather goods are hand-made, and usually produced for custom orders and tailored to individual customers' tastes.
The style of our leathercraft design is the "Sheridan Style", generally considered to have originated in Sheridan, Wyoming predominantly through the efforts of the famous leather crafter Mr. Don King.
The Sheridan Style is a description for the circular interlocking floral style that has become Lefty's specialty, and always he strives to create his patterns on a very intricate fine scale.
He always challenges himself and his fellow crafters to do the finest work possible, emulating the old-time
hand-made leathercraft without the aid of any machinery, and striving for the finest possible workmanship.
He is not interested at all in saving time, he only wants to create pieces that his customers will appreciate and enjoy for years to come.
He is often amused by those who urge him to mechanize his shop, but he will continue to produce by hand, this is Lefty's way.
Unlike much of our competition, we are modeling our designs after the finest influences of American and French leather designers; such as Hermes of France.
Of course this takes a great deal of time
to make such fine hand-made crafts
that will please the most discriminating customers.

SILVER GOODS

Most of the items are hand-engraved sterling silver, produced by famous silverworkers and distinguished companies such as Bohlin, Comstock Heritage, Vogt Silver, Sunset Trail, etc.
We can sell these pieces directly to you for your personal use, such as belt buckles, as well as incorporate them into our finished porducts, such as buckle sets for our handbags.

ANTIQUE GOODS
|
This includes Antique Western and other unique goods that Lefty and his son have discovered, often in very remote locations of the Western United States.
This includes many new and antique leathercraft tools and equipment as well.
Lefty's unique sense of design guarantees that you will find these items very exciting and wonderful!
